Labradorite is an excellent stone to help us remember how to rejoice in the midst of trials. When we look at labradorite from one direction, it looks gray, brown, greenish, or another dull color on the outside. However, God put special reflective surfaces within labradorite that reflect light in different ways and colors. When the stone is turned at just the right angle, light is reflected from within the stone to reveal beautiful colors of iridescent blues, greens, yellows, oranges, and even purples at times! This is called labradoresence.
In a similar way, our trials often look dull, dark, and hard. However, when we shine the light of God’s Word on them, they can reveal the beauty of what God is doing in and through them. We just need to change our perspective to allow the truth of God’s Word to be reflected through the sufferings.
